As a principal contractor to the Business and Education sectors, we have engaged D. M. Wade on numerous occasions to work with us on contracts large and small since our incorporation in 2009.

D. M. Wade have carried out property maintenance and improvement works spanning all disciplines from basic repairs and decorations through electrical, plumbing and general construction to metal fabricatJon s, HVAC and M&E.

We have consistently found all of the team at D. M. Wade from the site operatives through to senior management to be competent, responsive and a pleasure to deal with .

We are pleased to offer this testimonial and to recommend D. M. Wade.

J. Carr Director | May Harris Multi Services Ltd

Mr Wade has carried out two major projects for us over the years, as well as smaller projects and routine maintenance. Our previous experience had been patchy with local builders but Danny came highly recommended by another local company – as well as our postman! We have enough going on already with work, so finding a builder who can work to budget, undertake unusual, one-off builds as well as conventional works and spot and fix potential problems as he works has helped us get on with our own work.

Jobs don’t always go smoothly, especially when they deviate from normal layouts. During the construction of a combination car port and storage unit, one wall was built conventionally – but higher than the intended layout. Mr Wade corrected this immediately, without any hesitation. I had not experienced this with any builder before – their first reaction had always been to try and shift the blame. Any of us can make a mistake, especially when working with an innovative design – only a true professional automatically accepts responsibility for their work.

The second major project was unique, with the design resulting from a plot of land ending in a quadrant, and severe planning restrictions in an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). It involved brick cavity walls built in a series of three, reducing, radii and a pitched roof that had to intersect at continuingly varying heights along three sides of the building. Access to the site was severely limited, as well. Usually, our planning applications are followed by requests to tender from multiple building companies, only Mr Wade felt able to undertake the build. Visitors to the building (especially those in the trade) are always fascinated by the finished result, and highly complementary.

My experience to date has been that while it may be easy to save money in the short term using trades and suppliers who cut the odd corner to keep price down, or who may not always be able to complete to an agreed timetable, this will probably cost more in the long term – as well as delivering a few extra headaches along the way. Using Danny means that I can get on with running my business, knowing that he is an expert in his. ‘Do it once, do it properly’ as the saying goes…

Danny Wade has contracted to Undercover Events for a number of years. He has provided goods and services often at short notice for often complex and demanding projects both at our premises and on location at venues such as Twickenham Rugby Stadium, The US Embassy and University of Surrey. Danny's attention to detail, quality of work and ability to respond effectively are second to none and we would have no hesitation in recommending his company.

Roy Strickland, Managing Director | Undercover Events

We originally used Danny to build and project manage the conversion of two existing properties into one as we needed someone to not just “build” but organise the more challenging structural work, ensure all the various trades were properly coordinated, liaise with structural engineers and building inspectors and to ensure the delivery of a high quality finish within a tight timeframe. We were very pleased with the results so, for the last 12 years, have continued to use him across our property portfolio including, most recently, the full renovation of a period property, restoring original features whilst, at the same time, refurbishing and bringing it up to modern standards.

Danny Wade Construction have been undertaking minor building works at Crawley Community Hospital on behalf of NHS Property Services since 2017.  I am happy to confirm that their work is of a high standard, they are professional and very reliable.  Importantly for the NHS, their prices are also very competitive.
